"Thank you for sharing such great information. It has help me in finding out more detail about HIV epidemic"
i am not poz but i had been taking descovvy for prep while visiting a friend in florida late march when it started shutting down. i was watching a movie with her the last night there thursday. i was less than 2’ away for 2 hrs. friday nite she got sick--saturday she was so bad went to ER-- covid, treated and released but laid up more than a week very ill. i flew back friday AM and have been fine since including traveling on jetblue, on the subway, etc so i think there’s something here.
Where are the References? This is not a medical journal and studies have not been done. Even speculating that an anti-retroviral could be a preventative measure, is a dangerous move. Clinical studies have not been done and research does not support this in any way. This is 100% conjecture. Do not take this information to believ you may be immune or at lower risk!
one failing of this and similar articles is the lack of comment on cd4 nadirs/lowest counts. my husband and i live together, and I am 8 years older and have several listed underlying vulnerabilities to Wuhan Coronavirus that he does not, including COPD. however, his lowest T-cell count before HAART was substantially lower than mine and he became deathly ill last month whereas I remain asymptomatic. luckily Mt Sinai Hospital saved his life and he's.recovering, but t-cell nadirs need considering!
This article is a step in the right direction for more complete coverage on how C-19 might be medically affecting the HIV+ and for those taking Truvada to prevent hiv infection. Thank you Poz.com
No one is saying people with HIV are immune, but they are not coming down with it like you would expect. Nothing criminal about making an observation. I do really think it's the meds since Remdesivir is a NRTI just like Triumeq that I take. Too much of a coincidence to me.
We’re getting it too. Some of us aren’t qualified to have the test to prove it. It doesn’t discriminate. There’s a small Spanish study of five hiv poz people. We are all at risk. It’s criminal to suggest hiv poz people are immune to covid19, or that just because we’re taking antivirals medications that we’ll have an easier go.

Conduct a scientific study tracking HIV patients AND PrEP patients who are / were / will be diagnosed with COVID-19; cross reference their HIV or PrEP medication regimens in comparison to their COVID-19 disease severity. Any particular medication(s) or class of medication(s) having an effect on COVID-19 disease severity would show up as an observable pattern. Importantly, which patients are NOT getting COVID-19? Ex: What if no HIV patients on Zerit contract COVID-19? That suggests protection.
