I agree with Ian Gray. Just because some other STDs are cureable doesn't mean that I should forego condom use. And, by the way, there are other incurable STDs - such as Herpes 1 and 2, Herpes 8 that causes Kaposi's Sarcoma, CMV, Epstein Barr. And there are other things that I'd rather not risk getting / rather not go through having and then getting treated for. No moral judgement here, just my choice to reduce risk. As for masks, many in Asian countries used them before - so I can still.

Although I had hoped Sullivan's article would contain cogent examples to support the title. Instead what I've read is yet another myopic rationale against condom usage. It's alarming how Sullivan concedes that condoms may protect against other STIs BUT THERE ARE CURES FOR THEM! The whole point is to avoid contracting any STI. Regular use of condoms remains the most direct and inexpensive precaution.
